The Mountain-
Acotango is a majestic stratovolcano rising to 6,052 meters (19,856 feet), straddling the Bolivia-Chile border in the Cordillera Occidental of the Andes mountain range. As the highest peak in the Kimsa Chata volcanic chain—alongside the neighboring Umurata (5,730 m) and Capurata (5,990 m)—it overlooks Laguna Chungará and lies within Bolivia's Sajama National Park and Chile's Lauca National Park. First summited in 1965 by Chilean climbers, Acotango's peak may have served as an Incan sanctuary, evidenced by ancient firewood remnants, adding a layer of historical intrigue to its rugged allure for modern mountaineers.
Prepare, Plan, & Leave No Trace-
As beautiful as Mother Nature is, her power can be unpredictable and dangerous. Be sure you understand the risks and prepare accordingly. And, remember to Leave No Trace.
Note: If your flag has been rolled it may curl up and not lay flat. To remove the curl, roll it the opposite direction momentarily and once unrolled it should lay flat. We highly recommend rolling and not folding your flag to avoid wrinkles.
